Fundraising and Marketing

Guide Dogs Fundraising Guide Dogs staff member on the telephoneDepartment's mission is to raise funds to ensure that we can provide services to anyone who could benefit from them, both now and in the future. Our vision is that no person who is blind or partially sighted should be denied access to Guide Dogs' services due to lack of funds. The Fundraising Department is therefore fundamental to the ongoing success of Guide Dogs. We could not operate without the generous donations we receive from our supporters through a mix of fundraising initiatives, whether it's our Sponsor a Puppy Scheme, Name a Puppy, Raffle, Lucky Lottery, Cash Appeals, Recycling, Fundraising Events, Challenge Sports Events, Gifts in Wills, Trusts and Foundations, Corporate Fundraising, the list is endless! For this reason we are looking for talented, driven and creative individuals who love working in a fast-paced, target driven environment that is challenging and rewarding.

Guide Dogs' Marketing Directorate is responsible for managing Guide Dogs' reputation and our relations with the world at large. We are the voice of Guide Dogs and run our communications, marketing, campaigning, public policy and access and inclusion.

Visual impairment is a fact of life for many thousands of people in the UK. We’re campaigning alongside them for the rights that most sighted people take for granted. Through our award winning Campaigning work, we look at the needs and experiences of people who are blind or partially sighted, and campaign for equal access to transport, buildings, goods and services.

Our research team is here to provide a robust evidence gathering and analysis service, and strategic guidance to the organisation with the overall aim of making a positive difference to blind or partially sighted people’s lives through a clearly defined and articulated strategy. Our goal is to create a vibrant, constructive and forward thinking team which helps underpin the delivery of our colleagues’ work across the whole of Guide Dogs.

We continue to develop new products and services, such as My Guide and Buddy Dogs to enable people who are blind or partially sighted to be more mobile, and create innovative new fundraising products and resources to enable us to find new ways to fund our services. We ensure that new products and services are led by customer insight, make good use of Guide Dogs resources with full detailed business plans and project plans behind them, and are sustainable from a funding perspective.

We strive to promote Guide Dogs as the charity of choice for the British public, to ensure that our strategy is understood and supported by the general public, our supporters, our clients and our staff, and to make sure that our messages reach the right people at the right time.
