Mobility Services

Mobility Services is at the heart of Four young people and a buddy dogGuide Dogs' work. Our multi skilled teams of professional staff ensure that we support excellence in the delivery of all our services.

  • Supporting adults and children with advice and other mobility services such as My Guide that help them on their journey towards independence
  • The supply of specialist children’s habilitation services through local authority contracts which enable children and young people to become mobile as well as helping them reach their potential for leading independent lives as adults
  • Producing and training world-class dogs that bring freedom and independence to thousands of blind or partially sighted children and adults
  • Placing buddy dogs with families of partially sighted children and young people to help counter feelings of isolation as well as enhancing a child or young person’s confidence and life skills
  • Developing, sustaining and increasing vital support for our services through the thousands of varied volunteers that we recruit and manage
  • Growing our community fundraising base through the management and development of local fundraising groups, events and commercial relationships
  • Engaging with local communities to positively promote our service aims or to campaign against the social or physical barriers which limit the freedom of movement for people who are blind or partially sighted

We are passionate and rightly proud of the great work we do. This is because of the immense difference we know it makes to the lives of all those that we work with. Our aim is to keep growing our service offer, reaching out to help more and more children and adults who are blind or partially sighted.
