Exeter Mobility Team
Our purpose is to bring mobility and freedom of movement to people with sight loss in the South West, working through Guide Dogs and Blind Children UK. I hope you find the information you are after in the following pages, but if not please do call us at the team office – we would love to hear from you.
The Exeter Mobility Team is responsible for South Gloucestershire, Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, Somerset (including North Somerset), Devon (including Torbay and Plymouth) and Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly shown coloured pink on the map of the Guide Dog regions. My role is to lead this team of over 30 staff and hundreds of volunteers as we work to deliver services, keep funds coming in so that these efforts can continue, and collaborate with other organisations and professionals to make sure that our message is heard, and that the needs of our service users are taken into account. To see the statistics for people with sight loss in our team area you can access the RNIB data tool by clicking here.
After a career with this organisation spanning nearly 20 years, I can honestly say it is a privilege to be in this position, and that we have exceptional staff and volunteers who are dedicated to helping people with sight loss of all ages. Our youngest service users are under one year old, with our oldest being well into their 90’s, so please take some time to read more about our work, and their stories, in the other team pages.
