Kent Police Open Weekend

On the weekend of 5th and 6th July 2014 Maidstone Mobility team along with volunteers had a stand at the Kent Police open weekend. This was held at the Kent Police training school in Maidstone. Although the weather wasn't bright sunshine it was still a busy weekend with lots of members of the public attending along with family and friends of the Kent Police.

Along with Kent Police, Kent Fire service, Air ambulance and many more we were talking about safety and awareness. Alongside our stand we had the sensory tunnel which allows people to experience a blindfold challenge walking through the tunnel with different sounds and feelings. This was a great hit and we managed to speak to lots of people about visual awareness. We had various other games and blindfold challenges for people to experience.

We hope with more and more events like this in the coming year we will be able to reach out to lots more people about sight loss and what Guide Dogs are doing to help all people with a visual impairment who need it
