Kent Police Open Weekend 11th and 12th July

Police Weekend (1)

On 11th and 12th July this year the Maidstone mobility team joined in at the Kent Police open weekend. We were there to raise awareness about Guide Dogs and the work we do. We also had our puppy display team on the Sunday which was a big hit with the visitors! Over 1000 people went through our sensory tunnel and experienced what it is like to be blind for just a small amount of time. As always the tombola was extremely popular and along with all our other fundraising we raised over £1200 which was excellent.

The Kent Police weekend is always a good time for us to interact with our local police officers and talk to them about the campaigns we are running. Mainly this is dog attacks. The more officers we speak to the more awareness we can raise of the new law and help bring irresponsible dog owners to justice.
Thank you to Kent Police inviting us along again this year and hopefully we can make it bigger and better next year.
