FOBMA & HAI - Federation of British Malayali Associates and Huntingdon Alliance for Indians

Keralotsavam Festival 6th July

We had the pleasure of being the guest of honour at the Keralotsavam Festival in Huntingdon recently and wow what an experience.

There was 8 hours of Indian folk dancing and singing along with dance and song competition and awards.

The event also was to launch the FOBMA South East website and also the All UK organ donation campaign specifically to have a higher proportion of Indian donors.

It is so important for Guide Dogs to work within their communities demonstrating true inclusivity.  In the words of Keralotsavam “One small change makes a huge difference”

FOBMA intends to provide a non-political, non-religious and non profitable forum to its member associations and individuals to strengthen and bolster the common bonds of culture, tradition, social uniqueness and way of life while integrating to the main stream British community.

Malayalees are the most widely scattered diaspora community of the United Kingdom and FOBMA strive to bring together everyone under one roof. There is an estimated 15,000 Malayali families are living and working in the UK. Majority of the working population are skilled workers and professionals mainly working in Health Care sector and other service industries. We have every reason to celebrate their success, skills, knowledge and experience
