Fundraising

On average it costs £50,000 to breed, train, match and support each guide dog partnership throughout its lifetime, and there are nearly 5000 guide dog partnerships in the UK; nearly 300 in the Reading Mobility Team area. To run this service, we rely entirely on the generosity of the public as we receive no government funding.

Our Community Fundraisers Phillipa Jan, Denise Clark and Robert Macleay work to support community fundraising within our area.

We have many Fundraising Branches across the area that run collections and hold events to raise funds to support our work. A list of these can be seen below together with the Initials of the Community Fundraiser responsible for their development. If you’d like to get in touch with an existing branch, or to find out about setting one up, please contact the relevant Community Fundraiser.
