Southampton Mobility Team

Our team of staff work out of the Southampton office. We have around 230 guide dog owners at any time and we cover the following areas:

  • HampshireSouthampton Mobility Team
  • Wiltshire
  • Dorset
  • Isle of Wight
  • Channel Islands

Did you know there are approximately 17,000 people registered blind or partially sighted who live in the above areas?

In order to live a full life and contribute to a local community, people need to be able to get around on their own. At Guide Dogs we’re in the business of making sure that people who are blind or partially sighted do not lose this vital ability.

The Southampton Mobility Team is here to help. If we can’t help you directly, we’ll do what we can to work with other service providers in the area to meet your needs.

We deliver the following mobility services:

  • The guide dog service
  • Orientation and mobility training (cane training for those applying for a guide dog)
  • My Guide

If you are interested to learn about services for children and young people, please get in touch.

If you think we can help you or someone you know, or you’d like to know more about how you can support our work through volunteering or fundraising, just call, write or visit our office using the contact details provided on this page.
