Autumn Forward 2017

Forward Autumn 2017 Front CoverAs the nights have drawn in and the weather has become colder, why not curl up on your sofa with a cuppa and a copy of Forward magazine?

On this edition’s front cover is 11-year-old Amy Wright, an aspiring actress who uses Guide Dogs’ habilitation service for children and young people. Amy’s well set on her path to fame already; you can read all about how she came to be the star of CBeebies Radio’s iSpy Sound Detective.

Our new Chief Executive, Tom Wright, introduces the magazine with his thoughts on his first months in charge of our life-changing charity. Tom joined us in time for Guide Dogs Week, and you can read more about all the wonderful ways our supporters got into the Move it for Money spirit on page 11.

If you have a child in the Scouts, or you’re a Scout Leader, find out how you can help Guide Dogs through a project called A Million Hands – there’s more about this on page 15.

We reveal the winners of our People Awards on page 19, including the volunteers who tirelessly support us by donating their time. Two such amazing volunteers, puppy walkers Derek and Norma Stent, tell their story on page 17.
