Forward is Guide Dogs’ quarterly magazine for our supporters, clients and the public. First published in 1943, each edition is packed with news, events and stories about the amazing people and dogs involved with us from owners and volunteers to trainers and fundraisers.

This edition of Forward has a sporting theme. The main feature and cover star is a keen amateur blind sailor, Vicki Sheen, who battled to overcome health problems and the retirement of her old guide dog to triumph at the World Blind Sailing Championships in Perth Australia in 2011. We also feature an interview with Paralympic hopefuls Lee Greatbatch and Lora Turnham, guide dog owners who hope to represent Great Britain in their chosen sports this summer. Forward is also packed with the usual news and happenings from throughout the Guide Dogs family.
