Guide Dogs’ research programme is instrumental in helping to shape our policies, campaigns and services. We have three areas of interest and we carry out research in these areas either in-house or with external collaborators.

The three areas of interest are:

  • Canine research including the behaviour, health and welfare of our dogs)
  • Psycho-social research (the emotional well-being of our service users)
  • Fight for sight (the leading eye research charity, which funds pioneering research to advance our understanding of the contributing factors that lead to sight loss. The charity focuses on research into prevention, treatments, understanding and detection. They also provide information about funded research studies into different eye diseases of conditions)
