The guide to services for blind and partially sighted people

Find out what services and support are available in your area

Guide Dogs has created the first ever comprehensive directory of support and services available to blind and partially sighted adults and children across the UK. It includes details of social, health, rehabilitation, mobility and education services, and voluntary organisations, grouped by region.

The directory can be accessed below, by following the links to Word documents – there are four sections, one for each country of the UK.

When you click on one of the links, a box will appear asking you if you would like to open or save the document. Select open and the section will open in a new window.

Within each section, information is organised alphabetically by region. The contents pages are hyperlinked, so you can reach what you need in just a few clicks.

You can go straight to the data for your region here:

If you have any comments, changes or additions to the Guide to Services, or would like to link to it from your website, please email guidetoservices@guidedogs.org.uk. We will add any changes received by 1 May 2010. We will then be updating the guide on an annual basis.

Guide Dogs commissioned this Guide to Services as part of our commitment and contribution to the UK Vision Strategy. By improving awareness of and access to services, we aim to help people diagnosed with sight loss make the progress necessary to live a full and independent life.
