The multi-tasker – Maxine and Gino
Gino is not just a brilliant guide dog, he is also able to sense the onset of an epileptic seizure.
When Maxine was training for judo, she was about to have a seizure and Gino barked and then went to get help. Having called attention, and once Maxine was ok, he just went back to his work as if nothing had happened. He sees it as part of his job, but goes way beyond his training. Even more remarkably, he doesn’t just confine this skill to Maxine but has alerted for a member of the public on a bus who was also about to have a seizure.
