Fundraisers case studies

Fundraisers case studies

Here are a couple of case studies from our supporters showing you how you can reach your fundraising target without too much effort, leaving you more time to focus on your training!

Richard Cox - London Marathon runner.

Fundraising target £1200.

"I started collecting money in a jam jar from lottery winnings £10 or smaller, scratch cards, cheques sent to me from shares that were a small amount to me but I gave to Guide Dogs as I knew that would help them.  My other fundraising ideas are listed below.

Work: £399.50
Justgiving: £70.00
Mum's dancing classes: £130.00
Others: £212.00
Local company donation: £83.00
Church: £507.00
Local Whist club: £61.00
Local Women's Institute: £142.00

Total: £1604.50 plus Gift Aid bringing the total to over £1750."

Rachel Mulligan - Great Wall of China participant.
Fundraising target £2600.

"I had to raise £2600 before I was able to go on the trip, and I have to admit that I was slightly phased by the fundraising target but I knew that the money I raised for Guide Dogs would be used for their excellent work and I used that as my incentive to smash my target!  This is how I did it...

Nurses pub crawl: £435.00
Black tie ball: £1500.00
Halloween pub crawl: £192.00
Christmas pub crawl: £370.00
Sponsored leg waxing: £250.00
Fancy dress pub crawl: £300.00
Raffle of cuddly guide dog toys: £60.00
Company donation: £500.00
Donations from suppliers: £200.00
Movie theme party: £800.00
Car boot sale: £200.00
Sponsorship from family and friends: £890.00

Total: £5697.00.

As you can see I didn't stop fundraising once I had raised my target of £2600!  I felt that I still had a lot more to do, and I will continue to support Guide Dogs through any way that I can."
