Becoming a guide runner

The Guide Dogs Events Team currently has a list of runners who are capable and willing to act as guide runners for blind or partially-sighted people taking part in running events all over the country.

Running is a very popular sport for many blind and partially-sighted people, however we sometimes have a need for blind and partially-sighted runners to be paired up with guide runners in their area.

Acting as a guide runner means that we can usually arrange an automatic entry for you into the race too. Guide Dogs have guaranteed places in some of the best running events in the world including;

  • Virgin London Marathon
  • Bupa Great Run series
  • Brighton Marathon
  • Bath Half Marathon
  • Edinburgh Marathon
  • Bupa London 10,000 Run

In order for us to be able to match you with a suitable running partner, we'll need you know about your level of fitness and how far you are willing to travel to train with your running partner - then if a suitable opportunity comes up, we'll be in touch!
