Name a puppy...

Get a more intimate glimpse of the guide dog journey as you support your very own pup for their first year. Give your puppy a name; receive a birth certificate, personalised updates, beautiful photos and – best of all – you can even meet them. Make a difference – and memories – that will last a lifetime.

Guide Dogs breeds and trains over 1,200 puppies a year and needs to increase this number in the future. It costs over £5000 to breed and puppy-walk each guide dog puppy. This is just the beginning – in total it costs over £40,000 to breed, train and support a single guide dog partnership.

The guide dog service receives no government funding- so by naming a puppy, you really are helping to change a life!

In gratitude for your donation you will receive:

  • Regular updates on your puppy’s first amazing year as a guide-dog-in-training. Includes a birth certificate, personalised updates, and progress reports. Get to know what your pup has been up to, where they’ve been, how they’re doing in training and much more!
  • Beautiful photos of your puppy. An adorable shot of your pup as a cuddly bundle of fluff at 6-8 weeks, and a quality framed photograph of him or her in harness ready to go on to further training at 12-14 months!
  • The chance to meet your puppy- an unforgettable experience that will be very special for you- and your pup!

There are lots of different ways in which you can Name a Puppy- as an individual, as part of a gift in your Will, in memory of a loved one or beloved pet, to celebrate a special occasion, or as part of a community project. You can even name a puppy at work through our specialist corporate Name a Puppy packages.
