Guide Dogs at School
Your school is invited to 'paws' for a day, and
- Get involved with Guide Dogs
- Find out what our amazing dogs do, and how!
- Understand what it's like to be blind
- Support our work
- Meet a Guide Dogs speaker (and maybe a dog or pup!)
Guide Dogs at School starts on the longest day (21 June) until the end of the Summer Term. Just pick any day when you’re free!
We've put together a cross-curricular, multimedia activities pack to help you make the day fun, informative and interactive.
It includes fun things to do, posters and whiteboard materials and DVDs featuring young blind and partially sighted people.
The packs will also include all you need to put the event together – including interactive activity sessions that will help children understand:
- Guide Dogs and what we do.
- The importance of eyes and eyesight.
- Visual impairment.
- The challenges faced by blind and
- partially-sighted people.
- How people can overcome these difficulties and lead independent lives.
There’s also lots of fun ideas for raising money AND your school can share up to half the money raised!
You can register to take part in Guide Dogs at School here.
