Jump for Guide Dogs
Jump for Guide Dogs has been launched as a new fundraising challenge for local people. The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association’s Skydive fundraiser offers the chance for any daredevil to grab a parachute, providing they pay a £50 registration fee and raise £350 in sponsorship
They can then prepare for the adrenaline rush, hurtling towards earth at 120mph for 5,000ft of free fall, and then experiencing tranquillity as the parachute deploys and they gently descend back to terra firma!
All jumps are done in tandem with experienced instructors, registered with the British Parachute Association. The challenge is available for individuals or groups, each participant committing to the fundraising target in aid of Guide Dogs.
Peter Emmett, Guide Dogs’ Events Manager, says: “It’s adrenalin fundraising, and for a very good cause. It costs £10 a day to breed, train and support each of our 5,000 guide dog partnerships, so your leap of faith will help to fund future services for blind and partially sighted people.“
Anyone wanting to sign up or get further information about Guide Dogs’ Skydive should phone 0845 600 6787, email jump@guidedogs.org.uk or visit our Jump for Guide Dogs pages on this website.
