Tributes have been paid to John Reynolds

20 Jan 2015

John ReynoldsTributes have been paid to John Reynolds; Cambridgeshire County Council Councillor, volunteer puppy walker with his wife Diana and Chairman of our Cambridge fundraising group. We were all shocked and deeply saddened to learn of his untimely passing at the end of 2014.

Gill Bane, Secretary of the Cambridge group, said: "He was a true leader, encouraging people to excel. During his long chairmanship he has encouraged, helped and supported us to raise awareness of our cause and to collect thousands of pounds each year. Our group grew enormously, fun was had and firm friendships were made. We will continue with a Coordinator which means that John will always be our Chairman."

Rowena Dowsett, Puppy Walking Supervisor, added: "I always found him to be so incredibly kind, often playing down his superb reputation that he steadily built through his work at the county council. I will also fondly remember John's distinct 'cheeky' side, which was mentioned at his funeral. Above all, I know we will all remember him as a strident supporter of our charity."

Richard Leaman, Chief Executive of the Guide Dogs Group, offered his condolences: "Our thoughts are with John's family during this difficult time. It is also a huge loss for the Guide Dogs family and I hope we can use the memory of John's passion and commitment to inspire us going forward."
