Finalists announced for the Guide Dogs Annual Awards 2015, in partnership with Royal Canin

The finalists have been announced for the glittering Guide Dogs Annual Awards 2015, in partnership with Royal Canin.

Among this year’s incredible finalists are selflessly dedicated volunteers, a Paralympian, those who have overcome major illness to carry on helping people with sight loss, and many life-saving – as well as life-changing – guide dogs.

The awards ceremony, on Wednesday 9 December, promises to be an amazing celebration of our work as a charity, and the passion and determination of everyone who helps us to change the lives of people living with sight loss.

The finalists are:

Inspirational Guide Dog Owner

  • Libby Clegg and her guide dog, Hatti
  • Elaine MacKenzie and her guide dog, Una
  • Paul Matheson and his guide dog, Nala

Guide Dog of the Year – Beyond the Call of Duty Award

  • Angela Millgate and her guide dog, Oscar
  • Susan Jones and her guide dog, Pelham
  • Nicky Askew and her guide dog, Tillie

Guide Dog of the Year – Life-Changing Award

  • Lynette Proctor and her guide dog, Pippa
  • Nicky Askew and her guide dog, Tillie
  • Margaret Clarke and her guide dog, Marston

Young Persons Achievement Award, in association with Blind Children UK

  • Fadzie Karima
  • Tiri Hughes
  • Isabella King


My Guide Partnership Award

  • Chris Gilroy and Abbie McMurray
  • Nathan Edge and Pete Jones-Hall
  • Kerry Singleton and Louise Shannon


Breaking Down Barriers Award

  • Danny Gleeson and his guide dog, Dylan
  • Elaine Orwin and her guide dog, Chaz
  • Mary Rasmussen and her guide dog, Nelson

Collaboration of the Year Award

  • Chief Inspector Nathan Clark, of Norfolk Police
  • Merseyside Police
  • The Conservation Volunteers Scotland

The winners will be announced at our glamorous 1920s-themed awards ceremony at the London Hilton on Park Lane, where finalists will get to rub shoulders with celebrity guests. This year, Royal Canin is proud to be partnering Guide Dogs for the awards.
