This year, for the first time ever, Guide Dogs launched the Great British Dog Survey. Thousands of dog lovers across the nation shared just how much their four-legged friends mean to them and the results are now in! We have picked out some fun facts to share, but please view the full results.

What is the UK’s most popular dog breed?

According to our survey, Labrador Retrievers are the most popular breed. They were the most popular dogs in 82% of UK counties!

What are the nation’s favourite dog names?

We compiled a list of the top 20 male and female names. Alfie is the most popular male name and Poppy is top of the list for females.

How many pooches get a present on their birthday?

We asked the nation if they celebrate their dog’s birthday, and if so, how they make it special. We found that 41% of dogs get a present on their birthday!
