Can you make pom-poms – in a hurry?
This guest blog comes from Nic Morgan, District Team Support Worker in Leeds.
Leeds District and Fundraising team need yellow and blue pom-poms to mark each collecting box placed during our Collecting Box Challenge for Guide Dogs Week next Wednesday, 5 October.
We intend to have two of our life-size collection boxes (a yellow and black Labrador) in Leeds city centre in Briggate and we want to stick yellow and blue pom-poms on each dog to signify the number of shops and businesses who have agreed to take a collection box.
At the end of the day we hope to have covered both “dogs” with poms poms.” If you can help by making some pom-poms (the type you find on top of bobble hats), they need to be made from yellow or blue wool and measure at least two inches across.
Here are some handy instructions on how to make a pom-pom:

Please call 0845 372 7418 for more details or send pom-poms to Guide Dogs, Shire View, 72 Headingley Lane, Leeds LS6 2DJ.

Yes! Yes! Yes!
We did it! And Some!
Many many thanks to all those who were so fantastic at rapid pom~pom making we were able to cover both dogs in yellow and blue.
We placed a total of 141 collecting boxes and were featured on ITV local news programme Calendar.
We are now planning to offer the pom~poms to a local group to turn into a guide dog related picture.
