Celebrity Chinese banquet for Guide Dogs in Leeds
Ex-Yorkshire and England cricket legend Geoff Cope and football commentator John Helm will host a Chinese banquet in aid of Guide Dogs in Leeds on Monday, 17 May.
Taking place at Zen Rendezvous in Guiseley, the star-studded bash will include high profile guests from Yorkshire’s business, sport and entertainment communities. All receiving a tail wagging welcome from guide dogs and puppies in training.
Already confirmed as attending are Brian Lockwood, the former Castleford and Great Britain rugby league captain, Joe Royle of former Everton fame, and Gaynor Barnes from Yorkshire Television.
The event is part of Guide Dogs’ Get Together initiative, designed to encourage community fundraising.
Explains Geoff, himself a guide dog owner: “I'm delighted to be supporting this Get Together event for Guide Dogs, one of the many fun ways to fundraise and support the charity.
"I hope other people will follow my lead and Get Together for some Guide Dogs' fundraising. The charity produces information packs and downloadable templates for posters and invitations to help make any event a success.
“The guide dog service receives no government funding and relies on the generosity of the public to fund its services, so what are you waiting for? Get Together for Guide Dogs.... you'd be prawn crackers not to!"
