Paw Trek for Guide Dogs in Wiltshire
The patter of thousands of feet and paws will echo around Corsham Park, near Chippenham, when it hosts a Paw Trek in aid of Guide Dogs on Sunday, 19 July (10am-4pm).
The walk will be split into different lengths, meaning it is suitable for everyone, from families with young children, to those wanting the challenge of a longer trek.
Other activities will include a blindfolded walk with a guide dog, providing opportunities to experience life without sight; learning how these remarkable four-legged companions transform independence and confidence.
There will be plenty of clever canines showing off their skills, from Newfoundland water rescue dogs, to performers in the dog agility group ‘Paws for Thought’.
People wanting to rest their tired legs at the end of the walk can hitch a ride on Mr Chuffy’s Land Train; one of many attractions at the event.
Pedigree pooches can also be entered in the Companion Dog Show, whilst other dogs can enter novelty classes.
Organiser Derek Stent says: “Paw Trek is expected to be attended by thousands and be one of the biggest charity events in the south west this summer.
“Guide Dogs relies on voluntary donations to fund its services, so every sponsored paw-step will make a difference to the lives of blind and partially sighted people.”
