The My Guide service

Getting out and about

If you’re blind or partially sighted and would like help to get out and about and do things in your community, then the My Guide service is for you.

With My Guide, we carefully select a trained volunteer or a friend or family member to support you to work towards the mobility goals you want to achieve. These could be activities such as:

  • Improving fitness
  • Building confidence
  • Learning familiar routes
  • Accessing services in your community
  • Gaining confidence on public transport
  • Engaging with your local community

The My Guide Service is intended to provide increased mobility for people with sight loss who are over the age of 18. My Guide may not be the most appropriate service in some cases, however through our holistic assessment process we will consider other services that may be more suited to an individuals needs.

Get in touch today to find out more. Call your local team on 0345 143 0229 or email myguide@guidedogs.org.uk and let us know where you live, so we can put you in touch with your local team.
