Appropriate Traffic Speed
Maximum vehicle speeds for any street should be compatible both with the design of the street itself and the level of interaction between motorists and other users of the space. In most suburban streets and those based on the concept of sharing, this should not exceed 20mph. Indeed, in several areas of Europe, speed limits for pedestrian friendly zones are restricted to 20kmph (around 12mph).
