Guide Dogs sponsor Accessibility Prize at the UK Bus Awards
Guide Dogs are delighted that Nottingham City Council's "Linking the Journey" won the Accessibility Award we sponsored at the UK Bus Awards. The lunchtime ceremony was hosted by BBC News Presenter Jane Hill and the Keynote Address was given by Norman Baker MP - Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department for Transport; Gillian Merron, Chair, Bus Users UK presented the Awards.
"Linking the Journey" improves public transport accessibility and makes it a viable choice for customers with learning difficulties and/or visual impairments. Working together with users and transport operators to remove obstacles, make information more accessible and minimise fears so that more of these customers would be able to use the public transport network.
Sponsoring the award provided the Guide Dogs Campaigns Team with a fantastic platform to promote the Talking Buses campaign to key figures in the bus industry.
