MPs' support boosts our cause!

Thanks to those supporters who have written to their MP asking them to sign the Early Day Motion (EDM) on Talking Buses, 119 MPs have now signed (as of 27 Jan). This makes it the joint 28th best-supported EDM of the 745 that currently exist - boosting the government's awareness of the importance of Talking Buses.
EDMs are formal motions submitted for debate in the House of Commons, and they are used to draw attention to specific events, campaigns and issues, and demonstrate the extent of parliamentary support for a particular cause or point of view. An MP can add their signature to an EDM to show their support.
In total an amazing 28 percent of all eligible MPs have signed - 39 Conservative MPs, 51 Labour MPs and 25 Lib Dems.
But we can't sit back and relax - we need the government to commit to making audio-visual information on buses compulsory before the general election is called and their focus turns to preparing for battle. The more MPs sign, the louder our voice is heard!
So if you haven't already, please write to your MP and ask them to sign EDM 506
