Timber appeal
Every guide dog changes its owner's life

Timber’s story may be a bit unusual, but he’s just like any other guide dog, simply looking out for his owner – whether that’s in a life-threatening situation, or during a visit to the shops.
Your gift today could help a visually impaired person get their confidence and independence back. Right now there are hundreds of people waiting for a guide dog.
The guide dog service receives no government funding, and every dog takes 20 months to train, so they really do rely on help from kind people like you.
Why we urgently need your help today
- Guide dogs make a life changing difference to people with sight loss
- There are around 180,000 blind and partially sighted people in the UK who find it hard to leave the house alone - many could benefit from having a guide dog
- We aim to increase the number of guide dog partnerships by a third by 2020
- Each guide dog partnership takes around 20 months of training, seven years of support and costs around £50,000
- The guide dog service receives no government funding
