Our Face to Face fundraisers
Face to Face (F2F) Fundraising is used as part of our Sponsor a Puppy and Lucky Lottery campaign which involves donors contributing regularly through direct debit payments. This is an essential part of our fundraising as it enables us to plan for the future. It also gives potential donors the opportunity to talk directly to a representative of Guide Dogs, giving them access to information about how we operate and how their money will be used to help people that are blind or partially sighted.
Why do we use Face to Face Fundraising?
Face to Face Fundraising is used by many charities and is one of our most cost effective ways of finding new donors committed to giving regularly. Since we began using F2F in 2001, we have recruited thousands of new donors to our Sponsor a Puppy programme. Given its success in generating much needed funds for Guide Dogs, we are now also recruiting supporters on to Lucky Lottery.
Meet our fundraisers
Our teams of fundraisers are highly trained and enthusiastic individuals. They are dedicated to raising money and building awareness of our commitment to making people who are blind or partially sighted become more mobile.
How to recognise a Guide Dogs fundraiser
All of our fundraisers wear an I.D. Badge, a Guide Dogs T-shirt, Jacket or Tabard, and hold a Guide Dogs Folder. If you are unsure as to whether someone claiming to represent Guide Dogs is an authorised fundraiser please contact our Supporter Care Team on 0800 953 0113.
Some of our fundraisers use handheld electronic devices to capture supporter details and some use paper Direct Debit forms. Handheld electronic devices may seem like an unnecessary expense but there are many reasons that make these devices cost effective for Guide Dogs.
The quality of our fundraisers
We are committed to ensuring that our fundraisers offer a positive experience to the public when interacting with them, and are friendly, professional and helpful.
We are members of the Institute of Fundraising (IoF), the Public Fundraising Regulatory Association (PFRA), and the Fundraising Standards Board (FRSB). All of our fundraisers follow the code of conduct set out by the IoF and PFRA. We also utilise mystery shoppers and carry out quality calling to make sure that all of our fundraisers meet the high standards that we expect from them every day
Where do we fundraise?
Most of our F2F Fundraising is conducted through our agency, who we have worked with for a number of years. They carry out private site fundraising in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland – where they set up a Guide Dogs stand in locations such as a shopping centre or supermarket. They also attend large shows and exhibitions to promote Sponsor a Puppy on our behalf.
Street and Door to Door:
We have a few small teams of In House fundraisers who carry out our street fundraising, and a small team of Door to Door fundraisers working regionally across England.
