Make a Difference - why we need you

Guide Dogs receives no government funding, so we need the generosity of our supporters to continue to provide our life changing services. Here are just a few examples of how your support changes lives:

  • £1,000 Provides guide dog starter packs for 10 new guide dog owners including lead, harness, collar and high visibility gear.
  • £2,500 will pay for five children to attend a weekend Kids Camp where they will experience working and caring for a guide dog whilst also having a fantastic opportunity to relax and have fun with other young people in a similar situation to themselves.
  • £5,000 will sponsor a puppy through its vital first year on our Name a Puppy Scheme
  • £10,000 provides food for 40 working guide dogs for a year.
  • £17,000 will pay for the set up and six month running costs for a local Sighted Guiding Service
  • £22,000 Guide Dogs? new National Breeding Centre supports our world class breeding programme through the cryogenic storage of samples from successful stud dogs. £22,000 could cover the installation and commissioning of the new equipment in the new site, including all labour, fittings, wiring, and hire of specialist equipment.
  • £28,000 supports the breeding and training of a guide dog partnership.
  • £48,500 covers the lifetime cost of a guide dog.
  • £70,000 will pay for the training of 6 London guide dogs as part of the London Training Scheme
