Week 21 - Quella conquers fear of elevators
Quella now quite happily enters into an elevator, the first time I attempted to walk her into one she backed away, not even to be lured by a treat, or toy, all attempts failed miserably. I then left it for a couple of weeks, so she could forget that negative experience. This week I took her to a different store that had an elevator, and after sitting waiting patiently outside the elevator, when the huge door opened she trotted in alongside me with no hesitation at all, well done my little princess.
Quella and Maya are still getting on brilliantly, most evenings they can be found lying side by side washing each others face, followed by cleaning each others ears, so endearing.
Quella is a very keen gardener, and just loves to prune all the plants as she passes them. There are several large pots on the patio, which at the moment she can not reach, and the patio is fenced off from the rest of the garden. She is only allowed in the garden when somebody is with her, as there are a lot of plants that are poisonous to dogs, like the Rhododendron, Holly, Foxglove, Azalias, also daffodil, Hyacinth and Tulip bulbs, and many more, even the popular spider plant, the list is quite endless. I have 'cleansed' my garden of the nasty ones, to make it doggy friendly. It does not stop at just my garden, when I am out with her at a garden centre, or a market, or just passing a shop with plants outside, she can be seen snapping at the plants, I have often had to retrieve a bloom from her mouth. Fortunately she will always 'leave it' when told to do so, I then usually replace the bloom with a treat because she has obeyed me. As she grows it will be easier to catch her at it, but at the moment her mouth is so close to the ground, that my little darling has committed the crime in a split second, and you can't help but laugh at her.
