Week 33 - Moving up the classes

Quella certainly has a quirk about colours, I previously mentioned how she backed away from her food because I had changed her bowl, and it was a different colour. I have a bright orange aqua toy that is not kept in her toy box, I keep it in another room, but if she manages to sneak into that room she will always make a bee line for the orange toy. The other week in puppy class when sniffing in the enrichment area she went straight for a bright orange well know tiger, and actually took it to where we were sitting. On our next shopping trip I was then on a mission, visiting all the charity shops I could find, in search of an orange tiger for Quella, I did manage to find one, and she really loves it, it is the first thing she always takes out of her toy box. I did get an extra one to keep for that day when she leaves us, so she can take one with her. One of the tigers that I got was a talking one, well I couldn't resist putting batteries in it to see what Quella would do. It was really funny to watch her cocking her head from side to side trying to work out what on earth was going on. I then removed the voice box from the toy to make it safe for her, fortunately in was concealed in the toy in an easily accessible compartment, so I didn't have to dissect the toy.
As Quella is over six months of age now, she has moved up to the next class at puppy classes. She will now work towards her Kennel Club good citizens Bronze Award, which includes sitting and waiting at doors, recall, also remaining in the one position for one full minute, either in the 'sit' or 'down' I find the 'down' is the more reliable, as sometimes if they are asked to 'sit' they can soon tire and flop into a down , and that would then be a fail, and would need to retake the whole test at a later date. Quella is very good at staying down for the minute, so I think she will do that quite easy.
