Week 42 - Quella is happy to be out and about again

Quella chews toy on living room floor.
Quella sits on weighing scales.

Quella is now out and about again following her season, so is now a happy bunny once more. I have been playing with her in the garden, I also reduced her food slightly, to avoid her putting on weight. I took her to be weighed this morning, and oh dear, she has put a little bit of weight on, but I am confident a few free runs will soon get rid of those extra pounds. I have been looking through the basic list of environments and situations that puppy needs to encounter. I have covered most of the list. To begin with there is basic lessons, like walking on lead, sitting and waiting for food, spending(toilet) on command, recall from garden, and learning to cope being groomed. Then at three to four months of age and onwards ie; recall when free running with distractions, handling the puppy, car journey, small shops/large stores, glass doors/mirrors, market/market halls, solid tread steps, open tread steps, traffic, meeting other animals, schoolyard when busy, railway station and train journey, bus journey, escalators(look at only),enclosed lift, standard charity boxes, telephone kiosks, café or pub, processions, walking across bridges, walking at dusk, glass lift if available. The only one on that list that I haven’t introduced Quella to is the glass lift, however I do know where there is one in Chester, so that is on my 'to do' list for next week. I did take her to a carnival procession in July, where a brass band led the procession, but Quella wasn't prepared to hang around to listen to that one. The same brass band will be leading the Remembrance day parade soon, so I will be taking her to see the parade, hoping that she will now be happy to stand at the curbside and watch, relaxed.
