Make Every Day Count FAQs

It’s very easy! Simply sign up online by Direct Debit today. You can also download a Direct Debit form to print out, fill in and send back to us. Make your gift go further by considering Gift Aid when making your donation, at no extra cost to you.  If you are a UK taxpayer, Guide Dogs can reclaim 25p of Gift Aid for every £1 you donate.

At the moment, we can only send the welcome pack and updates to the address which you enter when you sign up. However, you are welcome to share the welcome pack and updates with a friend or family member when they arrive.

Donations for Make Every Day Count can currently only be made via Direct Debit. Committing to a monthly gift helps us to plan for the future and ensures ongoing support for children with visual impairment. However, if you’d like to make a single donation to our registered charity, please visit our single donation page. 

While other donations to Guide Dogs are used where money is needed most across the charity (from campaigning to funding dog training), all donations through Make Every Day Count will go directly toward our children and young people's services, which include family support. You will receive your updates four times a year.

In recognition of your generous monthly donation, every year we will send you quarterly updates via the post including a yearly newsletter. Your donations will go directly toward our children and young people’s services; however, you can cancel your Direct Debit at any time and following this you would no longer receive Make Every Day Count updates.

Please allow 14 days after you sign up for your welcome pack to be delivered.

We understand that circumstances can change and that you may not be able to or wish to continue your donation. You can cancel at any time by emailing guidedogs@guidedogs.org.uk or calling 0800 953 0113.

If you would like to update your address or contact preferences please contact our Supporter Care team at guidedogs@guidedogs.org.uk or call us on freephone 0800 953 0113. The team are available Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and are always happy to help with any queries!

Please be aware that once we have amended your record it can take up to six weeks for mail and 30 days for phone and email changes to take full effect.

You can make your gifts go further, at no cost to you, through the Gift Aid scheme.

As long as you are a UK taxpayer, Guide Dogs can reclaim 25p of Gift Aid for every £1 you donate.

For us to reclaim the tax, you must be a UK taxpayer and have paid enough income or capital gains tax in the financial year to cover the amount we’ll reclaim. If you’re retired or don’t work, you are likely to pay some form of tax on your savings or pension, so you may still be eligible. A declaration can cover the last four years’ donations and any future donations, until further notice.
