What have we achieved?
The campaigns team attended the Local Government Association Conference where we spoke to lots of councillors about the problem of street clutter.
Supporters started to email their local newspapers about the problems street clutter causes for them.
We took our ‘Street Clutter Mini Golf’ stand to the Liberal Democrat, Labour and Conservative Party Conferences throughout September and October 2013. The stand gave us the opportunity to speak with local councillors, members of the public, MPs, Peers and Ministers about this serious problem. Over 150 MPs attended the stand to find out more and several went on to take part in blindfolded walks in their constituencies afterwards.
We launched our Street Clutter Survey which revealed that 97% of those who are blind or partially sighted experience problems with street clutter, most on a daily or weekly basis.
