NaviLens
Paws on the Wharf used NaviLens technology to support people with sight loss to experience the trail.
NaviLens is a new and exciting accessibility technology. These colourful codes were created to help people who are blind or partially sighted access important information about their surroundings. NaviLens codes are unique in that they can be detected from much further away, at extreme angles and much quicker than normal codes. Simply download the NaviLens App for free, scan the codes and enjoy.
Using NaviLens on the trail
Our sculptures were located within five Areas throughout Canary Wharf and each sculpture had a NaviLens code on the sculpture plinth.
Each of the area's starting location was by the first sculpture within that area. People were able to use the NaviLens App to scan the code on the first sculpture and listen to the information about the design and the artist. NaviLens then provided directional information for the next sculpture within the area, which then had the next NaviLens code to scan.
It is a great honour to be able to work alongside Guide Dogs on their Paws on the Wharf art trail. The world of arts and culture is so very close to NaviLens' heart and having the opportunity to be part of something so groundbreaking makes us incredibly proud. We are great admirers of what Guide Dogs have achieved with this and are so grateful to be a part of something so amazing.
