The UK Careers Fair is thrilled to announce a nationwide partnership with Guide Dogs, who will be attending over 40 Careers Fair events across the UK this year to raise awareness of their life-changing work, promote volunteering opportunities, and highlight the importance of inclusive employment. Attendees will have the chance to meet members of the Guide Dogs team – as well as their incredible dogs at some events – and learn more about how they can support the charity by volunteering, donating, or getting involved in recruitment opportunities.

Emma Brown, Local Volunteering Attraction Officer at Guide Dogs, said:

We’re delighted to have the opportunity to reach visitors at The UK Careers Fair in a number of locations. Volunteering can help people develop skills which are transferrable into the workplace, for example roles within our fundraising groups allow volunteers to use and build upon their organisational skills organising events, coordinating their fellow volunteers and using their communication skills to spread the word about Guide Dogs.

Training is provided for all volunteer roles, and for those volunteering with our dogs, participating in our training programme might be of interest to those seeking a future career in dog handling. We also cover pre-agreed expenses.

Kathryn Ward, Chief People Officer, said:

At Guide Dogs, we’re committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment where our volunteers and staff can grow, thrive, and make a meaningful impact. We are united by our passion for making a difference to people living with sight loss. With a range of exciting volunteer and paid opportunities across the organisation, Guide Dogs offers a rewarding and fulfilling journey where you wake up with purpose every day.

The partnership will see Guide Dogs attend a wide range of locations from Glasgow to Truro, Belfast to Canterbury – all part of The UK Careers Fair’s mission to bring accessible career advice, live opportunities, and community-focused initiative to jobseekers nationwide.

Jordan Lawson, Managing Director at The UK Careers Fair, commented:

We are absolutely delighted to be working with Guide Dogs. Their presence brings a unique energy to our events, and their mission to improve accessibility and change lives through independence and confidence aligns perfectly with our own values. We’re proud to support them in connecting with thousands of people across the UK.

The collaboration also reflects a shared commitment to creating more inclusive career spaces – where accessibility, diversity, and opportunity are at the heart of the conversation.
