Data protection training
Keeping the information and data of our supporters, service users and volunteers safe is a high priority for everyone at Guide Dogs. To support volunteers with this we have different levels of data protection guidance and training in place.
All volunteers in any role should read our Data Protection and Information Security Essential Guidance document. If your role involves processing data regularly, you’ll also be asked to complete our Data Protection and Information Security training, which must be refreshed every two years.
Please see our Frequently Asked Questions document, for more information, including the list of volunteer roles that are required to complete this training.
There are two ways for you to complete data protection training, through an interactive, accessible eLearning course or a workbook (document) in your preferred format. Once you have completed the training, you will need to respond to eight assessment questions, with a pass rate of six correct answers, to confirm your understanding. Please note that you can attempt the assessment as many times as you need to. If you need assistance to complete the assessment questions, please contact your volunteer manager.
