We’re looking for Trainee Vision Rehabilitation Specialists to join Guide Dogs! We’re looking for people who want to learn, qualify, and make a real impact to a meaningful cause.

If you’re interested in supporting adults with sight loss to regain independence, or you know someone who would be, we’re hosting an informal online Q&A session on Monday 9th February at 6:00pm. You'll be able to join via this Teams link.

It’s a relaxed opportunity to meet some of the team, hear more about the role and training, and ask any questions with no pressure to apply.

One of our Vision Rehabilitation Specialists said,

I genuinely love wearing the Guide Dogs badge, being stopped by people to talk about what I do, to answer questions and to be seen out with people with a visual impairment. I get let in to a lot of peoples' lives. I build trust with people and I work with them to break down the barriers that they see to their independent life. Every day is different and every day is a new challenge. And I learn, every single day.

About our roles:

  • 8 locations available

  • Full-time (35 hours, mostly 9am - 5pm, Monday - Friday)

  • 3-4 days out in the community, plus 1 study day per week

  • Fully funded 2-year training programme in Rehabilitation Work (Visual Impairment)

  • Study delivered by Birmingham City University, with tuition fees paid by Guide Dogs

This is a fantastic opportunity to earn, learn, and qualify while making a genuine difference, supporting people to rebuild confidence, independence, and choice after sight loss.

If you’re interested, or know someone who might be, you’re welcome to get in touch. Full role information and Q&A details can be found in the adverts on our careers website.
