Volunteer promotion

Help us grow our community of over 15,000 volunteers, all giving their time and expertise to help us support people with sight loss.

Getting involved

Word of mouth about our roles from our teams of existing volunteers is one of our most successful ways of recruiting new volunteers.

As a volunteer your local knowledge, combined with sharing your genuine and life changing volunteering experience, can really help and encourage members of the public to join our community of Guide Dogs’ volunteers.

If you’d like to get involved, on this page you will find more information on how you can help us grow our volunteering community even more.

How you can help

If you’d like to request a Volunteering Champion pack, and start promoting our volunteer roles in your local community, here’s how:

  1. Request a Volunteering Champion pack and complete a short form with your details.
  2. Your local Volunteering Coordinator will create your Volunteering Champion pack bespoke to your neighbourhood, which will provide you with materials for volunteer roles that we are recruiting for in your area.
  3. You will receive a bundle of promotional materials, which include our posters, leaflets and business cards. You will also receive ‘A guide to attracting volunteers’, with key information about each of our core roles, some top tips on how to use your promotional materials and how to help someone apply for a volunteer role at Guide Dog.
  4. You’re all set and ready to start promoting! If once you have received your pack you have any questions, please get in touch with your local Volunteering Coordinator who will be happy to help and support.
