Our family days out are a great way for your family to relax, have fun together and meet other families with a child with sight loss. They also allow children with a vision impairment to build confidence and make lifelong friends.
We host events all year round, such as summer and Christmas parties, at a variety of exciting venues including:
- Audio-described theatres
- Zoos and animal parks
- Theme parks
- Sensory playgrounds
With members from our children and young people’s team at every event, you’ll also be able to ask questions and find out more about the other services we offer.
New events are added all the time, so check here regularly to discover the best days out with the kids.
Take a look at our upcoming family days out and events. If you are interested in attending any, please email the Family Events Team to let them know which event you would like to attend; along with the number of spaces your family will need. Children with a vision impairment (plus one parent or guardian) go free, with a suggested contribution for other family members.
If your child has recently been diagnosed with a vision impairment, we run an annual family weekend just for you and your family. You can also come along to a guide dogs experience day to find out whether your child might benefit from a guide dog partnership in future.
Guide Dogs have partnered with Merlin Entertainments to enable families with children with a vision impairment to book some fantastic days out at top attractions around the UK from theme parks with some of the world’s greatest roller coasters, to fascinating zoos and aquariums showcasing the most amazing creatures and wildlife from around the world.
