Crowns for Causes
You moved. You raised. You changed lives.
This summer, thousands of Guide Dogs supporters got moving for Crowns for Causes, a national campaign from Postcode Lottery and Strava, the fitness tracking app.
From daily dog walks and bike rides, to mountain climbs and personal fitness goals, supporters took on challenges through the Strava app to help unlock donations for Guide Dogs.
Together, 14,896 participants helped unlock an incredible £1,197,150 donation for Guide Dogs. Whether they took on one, two or all three of the challenges, every achievement unlocked a donation (with the chance to unlock up to £350) or a vote for Guide Dogs to receive a £100,000 bonus. Every challenge, big or small, helped turn movement into meaningful support for people with sight loss. That’s over £1 million that will help us continue our life-changing work.
And the impact doesn’t stop there. Together, participants helped raise a phenomenal £5 million for five fantastic UK charities: Guide Dogs, Cancer Research UK, Mind, Hospice UK and The Royal British Legion.

And a huge thank you to our longstanding partner, Postcode Lottery, and to Strava for creating such a fun and inclusive way for people to get moving and make a difference.
When Sam was excluded from P.E. at school because of her vision impairment, she was devastated. But she kept training and today, she’s a full-time athlete, playing Blind Football for England and rowing in the GB Para-pathway.
With the support of her guide dog Helga, who she relies on to get to her training sessions, Sam now has the freedom and independence to follow her dreams. Passionate about inclusivity, she advocates for accessible sports opportunities.
