Looking to get active over the summer? Join in with Strava & Postcode Lottery’s Crowns for Causes - you don’t have to run marathons to take part! Whether you’re climbing a mountain or climbing the stairs, walking to Land’s End or just the end of the garden, each step can count towards a Crowns for Causes challenge and unlock a donation for Guide Dogs for free: no fundraising required.
Guide Dogs is proud to be one of five charities selected to take part in the new national Crowns for Causes campaign, with Postcode Lottery and fitness app Strava!
Postcode Lottery have created their own Strava ‘Crowns’ - digital awards that are given to people that complete events and challenges via the app.
It’s a simple and inclusive way for people across the UK to support good causes by getting active in whatever way works for them - whether that’s walking, running, wheeling or moving more every day.
The challenges are open to all fitness levels and any activity counts, from walking the dog to scaling a mountain! Simply complete the challenge on the app, nominate Guide Dogs as your chosen charity, and unlock a £50 donation that will help change the lives of people with sight loss.
With challenges taking place across June, July and August, there are lots of ways to get involved and make a difference. It’s free to take part via the Strava app.

The first 30,000 people to complete each challenge will unlock £50 for charity (so up to £150 per person if you do all three). Anyone who completes the challenge after this can vote for Guide Dogs to receive an additional £100,000 boost in funding from Postcode Lottery!
Through collective action and everyday movement, we can help people with sight loss get out and live the lives they choose.

When Sam was excluded from P.E. at school because of her vision impairment, she was devastated. But she kept training and today, she’s a full-time athlete, playing Blind Football for England and rowing in the GB Para-pathway.
With the support of her guide dog Helga, who she relies on to get to her training sessions, Sam now has the freedom and independence to follow her dreams. Passionate about inclusivity, she advocates for accessible sports opportunities.

A £50 donation could cover the cost of the white guide dog harness and handle - the iconic symbol of a life changing partnership.

£100 could buy a Puppy Raising starter kit, full of all the essentials for our volunteer puppy raisers to give our pups the best start in life.

And if you unlock £150, you could be helping fund essential veterinary equipment or transport for a full litter of puppies.

A £100,000 funding bonus could support 4 guide dog partnerships from qualification to retirement, providing ongoing training, food and vet care throughout their journey together.
Every donation makes a difference. The more people that join in and support Guide Dogs, the more lives we can change! So sign up and share with all your friends, to help people with sight loss live independently, actively and well.
