1. Join our Guide Dogs Discord and let us know that you're planning to fundraise in the #stream-shout-out channel. We can then offer you support and answer any questions you might have.
2. Sign up to fundraise on Tiltify: Visit the Guide Dogs Tiltify page and sign up either by joining one of our events if there’s one live, or by clicking the ‘Start fundraising’ button to do your own thing. You will be prompted to create a Tiltify account, or log in if you have one already. Then simply follow the steps on screen to create your fundraising page for Guide Dogs.
3. Connect Tiltify with Twitch or YouTube: once you've created your Tiltify account, it’s time to connect it with your Twitch or YouTube account depending on where you plan to do your charity stream for Guide Dogs. This integration will enable Tiltify to track donations during your livestream. To do this, log in to your Tiltify account and navigate to the ‘My account’ section on your dashboard, then select ‘Connected accounts’. From here you can click on ‘Add account’ next to the Twitch logo, or the Google logo for YouTube, and follow the prompts to authorise the connection between the two platforms.
4. Configure OBS or Streamlabs: next, configure OBS or Streamlabs to integrate your fundraising campaign into your streaming setup. Both OBS and Streamlabs offer similar functionalities.
5. Setup some bot commands for your fundraiser: for example,  a £10 donation will trigger an action such a game, song or a mini giveaway.
6. Don’t forget to publish your Tiltify fundraising page – this is really important or you won’t be able to start collecting donations! Only publish once you are happy with your page’s name, as this can’t be changed later on, and your initial fundraising goal, as this can’t be decreased. (You can, however, increase your goal as donations start coming in, so you could start with a lower number which you’re comfortable with, and then add stretch goals along the way.)
7. Promote your fundraising stream: use your other social media platforms such as Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, and Tiktok to promote your fundraising stream. Regularly post updates, teasers, and reminders about the event. Engage with your followers by responding to comments and messages promptly. Consider using relevant hashtags to increase visibility and share with us using #GameForGuideDogs or #StreamForGuideDogs.

No! You have complete freedom over what time and day you’d like to stream. We encourage you to pick a day where you know your community will be more likely to be online and active. During certain fundraising events though we will only have incentives and rewards available between certain dates, so if you’d like to unlock a reward, make sure to check our website for event dates!

Whether it's your favourite game, baking a cake, crafting or just chatting, you can be adventurous with your stream! Consider what your community would like to watch and don’t forget to talk about Guide Dogs and how each donation will make a huge difference. Please always follow the platform’s regulations when streaming and be mindful of your audience – e.g., try to avoid horror or extremely violent games where possible during your fundraising stream.

Absolutely! You can still fundraise by gaming any way you like for Guide Dogs, including gaming online (but not streaming), playing PC and console games without internet connection, playing on your tablet or smartphone, or by breaking out your favourite board games or tabletop games.

Whatever you choose, simply set up your Tiltify fundraising page first as this is where your friends and family can donate. Don’t forget to let them know all about your fundraising challenge too and keep them updated along the way – perhaps you could take some pictures of your challenge in action, or pre-record a video and upload it to your social media accounts. Could you hold a 12-hour gaming marathon? Try and complete as many board games as possible within a certain time? The possibilities are endless!

No, it doesn't cost anything to stream! If you don’t have the streaming equipment, you can always fundraise by gaming online (without streaming) or by gaming offline. You can still ask your friends and family to donate directly to your Tiltify page.

We encourage you to take regular breaks during your fundraising challenge in order to reduce eye strain and allow you to keep yourself hydrated. Guide Dogs is not liable for any injury incurred during this challenge - please game responsibly.

• Controlling chat interactions: Twitch provides moderation tools that allow you to manage chat interactions effectively. Set up moderation bots or assign trusted moderators to help maintain a positive and safe environment in your chat. You can also enable filters to automatically block certain words or phrases.
• Be mindful of location sharing: avoid sharing specific details about your location during streams or in offline conversations with viewers.
• Manage your personal information: be cautious about sharing personal details such as your full name, address, phone number, or financial information while streaming. Avoid displaying sensitive information on-screen or mentioning it during broadcasts.
