Fundraise for the Guide Dogs Puppy Appeal
You can support this year’s Guide Dogs Puppy Appeal by fundraising any day this October, any way you like. There are so many fun ways you can get involved, either with your friends and family, colleagues, school, community, or on your own.
We might not all know how to train a puppy to become a life-changing guide dog, but everyone can help play a part by supporting the Guide Dogs Puppy Appeal. Find out how you can support us as an individual or workplace or get involved as nursery, school or youth group.
About the Guide Dogs Puppy Appeal
Every year around 1,350 puppies start their journey to become a guide dog. The guide dog service receives no government funding, we rely on donations to continue our life-changing work. Just £100 could buy a training school kit, essential to help every pup on their journey to becoming a qualified guide dog. We need your help to turn these pups into life-changing guide dog partnerships. We can’t do this alone.
Support us as an individual or with your workplace
Whether you’re fundraising solo or teaming up with your colleagues, you might already have a plan, but here’s a few of our favourites:
- Wear it bright: Organise a dress down or wear it bright day – just like the high-visibility colours on our iconic guide dog harnesses. Ask for £1 to take part and your fundraising total will soon start adding up.
- Sponsored puppy walk: Step up with friends, family, or with your dog – all ages can get involved. Pick your distance, plan your route, and ask for sponsorship. Whether you walk every day or as a one-off, every step counts.
- Bake a difference: Raise funds the delicious way - host a coffee morning, bake sale, or a potluck lunch. Whether you’re serving up sweet treats or savoury bites, fundraising with food is a delicious way to bring people together.
- Sweepstake: Tempt everyone to part with their cash by playing our puppy sweepstake game.
Support us as a nursery, school or youth group
The Guide Dogs Puppy Appeal is a fantastic way for nurseries, primary schools, secondary schools, and youth groups to get involved in learning about our amazing pups and helping them become the life-changers of tomorrow.
Get free learning resources about our iconic dogs, access our live school assembly, and use the fundraising pack to help our pups put the fun into fundraising. Here’s a few of our favourite ways to get involved:
- Sponsored puppy walk: Colour and cut out one of our pups, pop on a ribbon lead and go for a wag-tastic sponsored walk. Laps around the playground or a stroll to a set destination, those little steps make a huge impact.
- Wear it bright: Brighten up everyone’s day with our twist on non-uniform – wear something bright just like the high-visibility colours on our iconic guide dog harnesses. Simple to run, won’t disrupt the day, and if you ask for donations, your fundraising will be shining too.
- Win a puppy: Use our ‘guess the name of the puppy’ game - you’ll even get a free guide dog soft toy as the winning prize. A paws-itively easy way to fetch donations.
