Darren completed the 2022 Great North Run with his brother as his guide runner. Darren said:
"Living with sight loss isn’t easy, but with the support of Guide Dogs, anything can be achieved. Since reaching out to Guide Dogs, I am more confident, happy, outgoing, and always pushing myself to the next challenge in life."
"I will never forget the noise of the crowds clapping and cheering us both on as we ran side-by-side over the Tyne Bridge – it was amazing and a proud moment for me as we were both wearing our Guide Dogs t-shirts.”
From the moment you join #TeamGuideDogs we’ll be here to support you every step of the way. We'll be your one-stop shop for all the information you need in the run-up to race day, we'll send hints and tips to help support you with your fundraising, and of course, be your biggest cheerers on race day itself!
We appreciate the monumental efforts of all of our participants and think you are incredible for taking part in such a physically demanding challenge to support us.
