Forward is Guide Dogs’ magazine for supporters, clients and the general public. First published in 1943, each edition is packed with news, events and stories about the amazing people and dogs involved with us, from owners and volunteers to trainers and fundraisers.
Welcome to the Spring/Summer 2026 issue of Forward!
On the front cover of this edition is a buddy dog partnership which has helped teenager Caitlin immensely with her mental health. But buddy dog Mabel hasn’t stopped there – she’s also brought Caitlin’s whole family together. You can read more about the pair on pages 20 and 21.
We shine a spotlight on our brilliant new Puppy Packs on pages 10 and 11, which make sure that Puppy Raisers have everything they need when they welcome a new pup into their home, all while saving staff time and Guide Dogs money. Then on page 14, we celebrate an amazing milestone for our Academy, where our 50th graduate qualified earlier this year.
Finally, our News section (pages 6-9) contains not one, but two campaigning success stories so far in 2026!
