Forward magazine

Forward is Guide Dogs’ magazine for supporters, clients and the general public. First published in 1943, each edition is packed with news, events and stories about the amazing people and dogs involved with us, from owners and volunteers to trainers and fundraisers.

Contact our Supporter Experience Team to request Forward in your preferred format, to stop receiving Forward, or to change the format in which you receive it. It’s available in standard print, large print, Braille and on audio CD.

Welcome to the Autumn/Winter 2025 issue of Forward!

On the front cover is a trio of golden retriever puppies with the caption "These pups are ready for their close-up!"

We have not one but three stars on the front cover of this edition – a trio of our Baker’s Dozen guide dog puppies, who have taken the media by storm and melted the public’s hearts. You can find out more about the litter in Guide Dogs in the News on page 13.

Then on page 14, we celebrate how My Time To Play is flourishing - just like the children it helps – now our service has reached its third anniversary. There’s more to celebrate in the News section from page nine where we detail the staff, volunteers and service users who have won one of our People Awards.

We also meet John on page 18, whose volunteer role for Guide Dogs sees him motoring around the UK to deliver our guide dog puppies to wherever they need to be. You could say he’s quite the driving force!

There are two heart-warming examples of Guide Dogs staff using their all-important sighted guiding skills out in the real world on page 20. And then on page 24, you can read about young Aden, who’s quite literally scaling new heights for Guide Dogs.
