Fundraising ideas for 2020

Thank you for choosing to fundraise for us! We really appreciate your support and the money you raise can help us continue to improve the lives of people living with a vision impairment.

Need some fundraising inspiration? Whether you’re a star baker, a quiz master extraordinaire or are looking for a fundraising activity to host at work, there is something for everyone! We’ve got lots of easy ideas for you to get involved with, and you’ll receive lots of helpful resources and support from our friendly fundraising team.

Complete our form to receive your free fundraising pack in the post or as a downloadable resource!

As well as the useful resources in our pack, here are some great fundraising ideas to get you inspired:

  • Dine in the Dark

This is a great charity fundraiser to do with your friends or family at home. Serve dishes to your guests wearing blindfolds and get them to guess what they’re eating, charging a set menu price! You could also play our fun sweepstake too.

  • Blindfold Challenge

Take part in a blindfold challenge at work, home, or in your community for 1 hour, 12 hours, or 24! This fundraiser gives you an understanding of some of the challenges faced by people living with sight loss and helps raise awareness. Simply set up a Facebook Fundraiser or use our sponsorship form.

  • Quiz Night

Organising a Quiz Night is easy, providing you have the correct answers and keep score on each round! Get a head start by registering for a pack and downloading our quiz, including a special Guide Dogs round. You can charge per team and perhaps include beverages on the table. Alternatively you could ask your local pub to host the quiz for you.

  • Great Guide Dogs Tea Party

Love to bake or just eat cake? Then why not host a Great Guide Dogs Tea Party! We run tea party campaigns throughout the year that you can get involved with. Host at home or at work and raise and help people with sight loss while having a great time.

  • Dress Up or Down Day

Ask your boss or teacher whether you could have a dress up or down day – perhaps on a Friday. Participants can donate a suggested donation of £2. If you are looking to make this into a larger fundraiser, you could also play our sweepstake and host a bake sale too!

Every penny counts

It’s people like you that make a difference. From leads to lifelong partnerships, every penny you raise makes a difference to people living with sight loss.
