In this role, you will transport puppies and adult dogs between Guide Dogs sites and specialist vet visits.

We are working hard to make sure anyone who wants to can volunteer for Guide Dogs, but at the moment we have a minimum age of 18 this particular role.
As a People Driver volunteer, you’ll be helping people with sight loss to live the life they choose by providing safe and friendly transport that enables service users, staff or fellow volunteers to engage in Guide Dogs activities.
I have always loved driving and dogs, and this seemed to be the ideal way to help a good cause and do the thing I enjoy.

You’ll mainly be performing this volunteer role in the community, and we can be flexible on how far you are happy to travel. We will reimburse mileage for pre-agreed travel using your own vehicle.
It’s likely that your volunteering will take place when you have time around your personal commitments.
Most volunteers in this role normally commit around 2 hours per month volunteering, but this is a flexible role and more hours, or longer journeys may be offered if this is of interest to you. To help us and you get the most out of the role our expectation is that you’ll volunteer for at least 12 months.
